今回の薬局英会話講座は 第8回「薬の保管方法を説明する」 です。
患者さんに薬をお渡しするとき、正しい保存方法を伝えることはとても大切です。
「直射日光を避けて」「冷蔵庫に入れて」「子どもの手の届かない場所に」など、
実際の薬局で使える英語表現を練習しましょう。
👩⚕️ スタッフ側の基本フレーズ
① “Store this medicine in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.”
👉「この薬は直射日光を避け、涼しく乾燥した場所に保管してください」
🔸 “cool, dry place” は薬の保管説明で定番のフレーズ。
② “Please keep this in the refrigerator.”
👉「この薬は冷蔵庫で保管してください」
🔸 “keep in the refrigerator” は冷蔵保管が必要な薬に使う表現。
③ “Do not freeze this medicine.”
👉「この薬を凍らせないでください」
🔸 ワクチンやシロップなど温度変化に弱い薬に注意。
④ “Keep this out of reach of children.”
👉「お子さんの手の届かないところに保管してください」
🔸 “out of reach of children” は最もよく使う安全フレーズ。
⑤ “Use this within one month after opening.”
👉「開封後1か月以内に使用してください」
🔸 “within one month after opening” は期限を明確に伝えるときに便利。

🗣️ 重要表現と文法のポイント
- keep / store：「保管する」両方使えるが、“store”は説明書・指示文でよく使う。
- cool, dry place：「涼しく乾燥した場所」漢方薬・錠剤などの定番表現。
- out of reach of children：「子どもの手の届かないところ」＝安全上の必須フレーズ。
- within + 期間：「〜以内に」期限説明でよく使う（例：within one month）。
- away from sunlight / heat：「直射日光・高温を避けて」。

📌 ワンポイント
英語で「常温保存」を説明するときは、
“Store at room temperature (around 25°C or 77°F).”
と付け加えると海外の患者にも明確で親切です。
